it is definitely a bonafide club. I was a member on and off for many years and became a lifetime member a couple years back. Good club. Magazine is good (lots of nationwide info). there forum like this one is ok also. The lifetime membership was not a bad deal. got some nice stuff - best thing was a $70 gun case. I wouldn't be afraid to try it for a year and see how u like it.

my dad was a member, they sent us books we didnt ask for(along with the bill for it), they sent us things asking for money all the time. I was interested in the whole "free merch to test out". After a couple years all we got was some little BBgun color changing targets.
I have heard alot of stories from guys on here saying they didnt like it, and alot of others saying they enjoyed it alot. So i guess it is different from person to person.
but i gotta say I did enjoy the magazine

Yep life member myself. I enjoy it, even won a prize in the Gear giveway! Do know they keep sending things, try this and try that, if I am not interested just throw em away! Even tested a few products for them and they keep getting nicer!
It's a pretty interesting business model. The club is owned by a company called the North American Membership Group. They basically use the same infrastructure to aggregate content for hunters (NAHC), golfers (PGA Tour Partners Club), and others.
I am a member and have enjoyed the magazine, but despite my best efforts have not been able to get much more out of the club. They have not been as intrusive to me as communicated by others. I did go hunting with a guy who is also a member and did test a product for them, so I don't think they are a sham.
Their message board has a nice division of local content by state/province; but not nearly the level of participation as HN.com.
You should try it for a year and if you don't like it get out... I don't think it's that expensive, and the magazine alone justified the cost for me.

RE: North American Hunting Club??
I've been a life member for some time. If they send you stuff you didn't want or ask for, you may keep it. You can also notify them not to send anything anymore, which is what I did, and it will stop.
I enjoy the magazine, and have been offered to test products for them. I feel they are an up-and-up organization and have no sorrows about joining. Try them for a year and see how you like it.
I have been a life member for a very long time, it is a good club, I like the magazine and all the good info, I get asked to try products, but never have... like someone mentioned try it adnd see.....
Sorry, but I'm going to be one of the naysayers. Kept sending books and stuff I didn't order and after a few years never got to test anything. I bought quite a few of the books, so they got alot more out of me than I did from the club.
