RE: syracuse,ny hunting show
the SU show is OK. Not real big and probably not much different than the Rochester & Buffalo shows (I've never been to those, but they generally have many of the same booths with some local stuff sprinklled in). I've been to SU several times, don't go much anymore (once every few years, if nothing better to do).
If you want my opinion and are willing to travel a bit farther I would suggest goiing to the PA show in Harrisburg (Feb 4-12). This show is HUGE. Tons of stuff. If you know the NYS fairgrounds, think of the whole complex of main buildings full of vendors (not just one) and you will have something like the PA show. I started going 4 years ago and have gone every year since. It would be a good drive for you (3 hrs. from Binghamton) but well worth it. Get a few guys, hop in the van/SUV and head down. Plan on spending a full day there (it will take you all of the 10 hrs. to get through it - if you are looking at stuff, watching seminars/show, etc.). Stay overnite somewhere and you can check out the Bass Pro in Harrisburg and then hit Cabelas (only 20 min out of the way) on the way home. With a few guys you can split gas & room and have a great couple days. (for info on the show search northeast sports and outdoor show PA)
