are going to try the handgun hunt tomorrow and next week. Should prove interesting since this is the first time the state has tried this method of hunting, everyone stay safe......
Dont own a handgun. I didnt see anyone at one of the public lands that was open for it. I think its cool that the handgunners get a chance to use their weapon of choice. I just wish they would have waited 1 more year until they had the herd data thats coming out. Oh well, one year wont decimate the herd.

There werefour of us out hand gunning todayat our lease in slower lower, no one got a shot. As you knowthe later into the season it gets the harder it is to find one.
Heard 2 handgun shots on adjacent farm and 2 on adjacent WMA.
I Saw 4 come out at 5:10 pm.Last one was a very large Buck that stopped in mid field.Could not see all points but we think he is the 10pnt thats been seen prior and traveling with 3-4 Does.Problem is he was 110 yrds off.Good 12g shot but obviously not in 44 mag range.
I decided to try out the new season and I loved it. It gave me more time to get out into the woods and experience some quiet time. I saw plenty of deer but chose not to shoot because we are trying to let the younger bucks go and retire the big daddy's. I enjoy getting out in the woods whenever possible and now I have yet another reason to get out there.
A bad day of hunting is always better than a good day at work.
Went out Saturday evening. Had nine come out. Most were yearlings but three were nice does. I took one of the bigger does with a Super Redhawk .44 mag at 35 yds
