Default Pa. hunters and GPC tagged deer

I was just reading the Pa. PGC 2005 press release. http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/cwp/view.asp?A=11&Q=166582

A few topics to think about and to question on. But the one I wanted to know about is, has anyone or knows someone that ever shot a tagged deer or a radio collared deer here in Pa.? I was asking this because I remebered many many years ago they have done this,But the deer was in a safety zone area and wasn't allowed to be hunted in this area, they was for research. With allmost 2500 deer tagged and released you think that atleast 1/3 of them would of been harvested by now.I was just curious and if so,what area of Pa. was they harvested? Or maybe they are in a research area as they once did before.I think that it was to see if the deer would move out of the area if the herds got to big for the food supply.

Default RE: Pa. hunters and GPC tagged deer

my friend shot one last year in centre county. 2 1/2 yr old 8pt. he called the number on it and they asked him where and when he shot it, and got his info. then a few weeks later they sent him all the info they had on that deer. they gave him a print out on where they tagged him and a print out tracking the deers movements. this deer only moved 2 miles away from where they tagged it.
