Default Help for New Jersey newbie

Any bow hunters living in the Brick, NJarea? It used to be my main love when I lived in NY but since moving to NJ about 9 years ago fishing has become my number one. I miss the hunt (and the pleasure of eating venison) and want to get back into the sport by next season. I will need to buy everything new and don't know where to shop. Are there any sport centers with an indoor range in the Brick, NJarea where you can test shoot before you purchase? Any good bow hunting clubs in the area? Even though I hunted for many years in NY,Penn and even Maine I have never hunted NJ so I'm a new kid on the block and need a lot of direction. If Brick, NJ is too specific then how about Ocean County New Jersey?

I live up north here in nj but go to my house in pointpleasant for the whole summer and on weekend becouse i work on a head boat.If your looking for a palce to hunt i hunt the wildlifemanagment area in allenwood which is about 5-10 minutes from point. Also if your looking for another place ask the farmers in the wall/farmingdale area there is some propery that they let you hunt on sometimes on alair rd.a good sports shoop in the area is sportsmanshop in neptune. They got alot of stuff and are also a check station for when you shoot a deer.

mate mike- WELCOME! i would hit the parkway to rt 195 west. take the rt 130 exit south. you will find 2 of the better gun- bow shops in the whole state probably around 40 minutes. as far as hunting you are in the ocean county area so you can check out some these game lands- - white bogs- manchester -colliers mills - assunpink -greenwood-.
