What can explain Gordon Livingston’s twisted ramblings?
By Steven Christian

Gordon Livingston’s “explanation” of the sniper(s?) terrorizing our area is the most reprehensible attempt to classify the sniper(s?) by use and at the expense of hunters.
His analogy of a hunter is something right from an anti-hunting folklore comic book and one I find especially despicable at this time. Throughout his blathering he keeps returning to the most inhumane portrayal of hunters, even to the point of likening hunters to the situation with Iraq and the al-Qaida.
It is people such as Gordon Livingston that bring nothing to comfort the victim’s families or help the police. He, like all others that are offering fear-mongering and blame because they themselves are scared, has only offered his agenda at the expense of others and on the coat-tails of others’ tragedy.
If Livingston is writing from his personal experience, ethics and philosophy of what hunting is or hunters are, then he should be his own best patient.
“Gordon Livingston is a psychiatrist who lives in Columbia.” Thanks to the Baltimore Sun for letting me know this so I can be sure never to use his services should I ever have the need. However, the Sun’s decision to print his tripe shows a lack of editorial conscience during these tragedies and just before hunting season is to begin.
