Default My PA 11 pointer

hey all i havent posted for a while.. so i figured id tell ya about my hunting story this year.

well the first 2 days of rifle season here in PA were pretty much a waste of time. i skipped college on monday and tuesday and sat through the rain and wind for 2 days strait. needless to say i saw zero deer.

on saturday (the next time i could hunt) i got up and walked up the mountain with my dad. we got to our stands around 630 am. by 7 i was freezing my nuts off. and i wasnt seeing any deer so the adrenelin definetly was not keeping me warm.. well at about 10 i stood up and was taking a piss outta my tree... and i looked and off in the distance i sptted a deer coming my way.. so i hurriedly zipped my pants and sat down and took my shooting glove off.. i pulled up my 7mm08 and i saw that the first deer was a small spike buck.. it walked towards me for about 40 yards and i spotted another deer behind it. all i could see was horns... so by now my adreneline is pumping and my body is warm again.. i let it walk until the spike was almost underneath of me and the big buck was about 40 yards. once it got into an open shooting lane i gently squeezed the trigger and Bang! the deer was down. boy was i pumped. i let it lay there for about 10 minutes and when i knew it wasnt going to get up i got down out of my tree and walked up to it. an 11 point!..it had a 16 in. spread.. i was about going nuts. i called my dad on our 2 ways and he came up to me. it was my second big buck in 2 years here in PA.. last year i shot a nice 8 point w/ a 16 in spread in archery season and my dad shot a real nice 8 pt with a 19 in spread in rifle last year...

what i learned form this hunt is that you just gotta be patient.. my dad and I sat on the mountain for 2 days and never seen a thing.. but we stuck it out and went back on saturday and sat most of the morning w/o seeing deer. but if u put ur time in.. you will come out with a trophy..

i hope these pctures work

heres a picture of my 8 pt and my dads 8 points from last year

Well i taggeed out in archery , i skipped classes here at IUP to hunt , saw 2 nice 8 points , but sadly enough i filled the tag early. since the opener ive hunted 3 days , killed a nice tender do on saturday , also saw 3 more buck, they horns are just pouring outta the woods at me, so far im the only buck down , so next year should be insane for seeing shooters. i got 4 down on the yr , my 9 pointer from halloween and 3 nice doe.
