deer, deer everywhere but none to be seen.....
So, it's been a frustrating season so far. I have seen 3 deer (doe and 2 yoy) in 5.5 days of hunting. Weather has been great - cool/cold and we had snow for the past 4 days. But still no deer. They are there. How do I know?......because every darn morning walking to my spot I cross 4, 6, 10 fresh tracks. The worst was yesterday - it snowed all day Saturday (ended at 2:30) and I went in at 4:30). The next am I cross at least 50 tracks in and ~1/2 mile loop I made (not to mention beds, feeding spots, etc.). All tracks (there were probably more than 50 and I know that some/several were probably the same deer, but...) were fresh from after the snow had stopped. Guess I am going to have to camp out in the woods with my spotlight to get a whack at one of these darn animals (just kidding, frustrating though). Anyone else experiencing this??
