Default would you rattle for opening of gun in pa

hey pa hunters with the rut going on right now and all would you rattle for the opening of gun next week or just sit and wait or would you use scents... anyone live up mount pocono... how is the weather up there any snow on the ground yet... hunting hickory run next week..thanks in advance with any help

Maybe if you're on a large sprawl of private land. But i'll be on gamelands so i'm sure the only thing I'd be calling in is every hunter within a quarter mile. Good luck, let us know how you decide to.

In gun season? Only if I had a death wish! Too many wacko's out there carring guns that would shoot at anything or any noise...

NO to rattling
I suppose depending on pressure, putting scent along a trail may get a deer to stop for a second or 2 to make a shot if you needed it. Otherwise I wouldn't bother with that either.

I would sit and wait first. If I was getting bored, a couple of grunts and wait. I wouldn't discount rattling, though. I've rattled up a buck during gun season. Just do it lightly. There will be some curious bucks that will come looking. If you really smash them up, you might spook deer that are only mildly interested.

depends....private or public? # of hunters.........sit tight in near the thick stuff and the deer will come
