WV Opener Monday Whats Happening?

Opening day of rifle Monday. Leaving for the drive to the family farm in a few hrs. Whats happening in WV. What phase of the rut do they seem to be in?

They should still be chasing. I was down at the end of last week and we saw NO chasing, but bucks were seeking. I have since heard reports of chasing, so I imagine that should still be going on.

RAIN! They forecast rain on Monday, and get this, rain and 27 MPH winds on Tuesday!

Thanks Doug. I just checked ACCUWEATHER and they are not calling for rain in the Clarksburg area until Monday night. I'll have to pop one early Monday.

saw bucks grunting/chasing does all day Mon....buddy missed a big 6 that was chasing does yesterday evening... bad weather...more bad weather comin'...perfect for buck huntin'..

I was at Sparks Sporting Goods this morning in Martinsburg and while I was there for about 15 minutes there were 6 buck being checked in including a real nice 16 pt. The guy that shot this one lives in my neighborhood and I had a chance to talk to him. He said the deer were rutting pretty good and I would say so because this boy had a thick ole neck. I almost laughed when he told me that this was the smaller of the two he saw but the other guy was a bit too far he said. With all that I guess you can say they are moving and that this morning was a decent morning.
