Default getting more excited - things should start picking up

Don't get me wrong, I am always excited about bow season, but the 1st couple weeks are mostly scouting and trying to see some deer. I think this weekend will start the early rut and the next 2 weekends should be awesome. And, low and behold, there doesn't look to be any rain in the forecast (knock, knock). We actually may get a little snow at my camp.

Pre-rut was in full swing last weekend here. I was amazed. I've watched mature bucks following does now several times. Good luck, hopefully dry too!

Hi guys, I'm getting out for three days starting tomorrow to hunt East Otto NY. Getting real excited! We went last weekend and got soaked as everyone else! Supposed to be dry and cool in mornings. I like DRY.
Saw a couple does last week but nothing chasing anything. Saw a few nice scrapes. It should be a great weekend!

"You know what they say, even a bad day of hunting is better than a good day at work!" (Is there really such a thing as a bad day of hunting?)

We have been seeing tons of active scrapes here in WV and many rubs. Boys, its getting "prime time" now to be in the woods.

Good luck and be safe

so much for that idea. what a disappointing weekend. 3 days and saw 1 deer (a small one running around in a field) and that is it! no scrapes, no nuthin'. great weather finally (we had snow on the ground friday and most of saturday). maybe next weekend.
