Default MD Hunter Here

Hello all!
I'm new to this forum and wanted to say hey. My name is karen my 12 year old son and I usually hunt ind WMA Indian Springs. I just started last year and have a lot to learn. Any information on good spots to hunt are appreciated. I would love to get hooked up with a experienced hunter to help show me stuff I don't know/understand so I can teach my son properly. So far i only know what I have learned in classes.

Thanks look forward to your replies.

I hunted a muzzleloader season once at Indian Springs. Only saw doe. Thats great that your taking your son out. I remember Indian springs being rather large but full of hunters. They all stayed near the edge of the road. For that rolling hill hunting, I would look carefully that the saddles in the mountains. You can get by without a treestand mountain hunting like that. I will try to look at a map and remember where I thought was some hot spots.

I'm sure he would love to learn to use a bow, unfortunately i can't seem to get the hang of it myself - ripped all the skin off my arm last time i tried... that was with an arm guard!
Muzzleloader is definately my first choice, he likes shotgun, but i don't own any shotguns yet (i hope to get him one for xmas though). We each have muzzleloaders. I'm a broke, single mom. Hunting stuff is expensive! lol

I love sitting in the woods. Though a fox scared the heck out me last year. It was following me all over the place.

I am going to attempt my first camping trip with him Muzzleloader opening weekend. (i can't say my first camping, but it is definately my first without someone with me.)

I sit for a while, walk for a while, etc. I have two spots that I know of that i can see farely well all the way around. I am however, still getting used to the hiking part (still recovering from back surgery last summer).

Thanks for getting back to me. it could be a plan.

I live outside of Hagerstown and hunt Indian Springs quite fequently. It is a good spot to see a lot of deer but it can get very crowded during the various firearms seasons. Send me a PM, maybe you and your soncould get together with me and some of my hunting buddies and we could help show you the ropes. Its always good to see new people get into the sport, I would be happy to help in any way I can.
