Default New Paltz New York preserve

Has anyone hunted the Mohonk Preserve in New Paltz New York? I'm thinking about bow hunting the land, I guess you have to pay a $30 fee. How is the land, deer population, amount of hunters? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Hunting.......

I live not far from the preserve.I have hunted there several times in the past, and I say it is a great place.Lots of deer, the terrain is a tad rough though,so be prepared with some good comfortable boots and such. The veiws are spectacular. Here is a link to the hunting section. The 2005 permit app is not up yet<2004 is>so you may want to contact them,or wait till they uplaod the current one.Its in pdf format.
