Default Trout in Adk. Lakes

I have a family camp on Rondaxe Lake inbetween Old Forge and Inlet in the Adirondack region NYS. I fish with the nephews off the shore with bobbers for panfish and catch trout every now and then. Last weekend we caught 2 that were more than a couple pounds. I am not a trout fishermen but there is much potential for nice trout in the lake and I would like to take advantage of the situation. I am looking for ways to catch more trout. A little more back ground on the lake. It is basicaly a damned portion of the Moose river that was used for logging years ago.Trolling is not an option because we do not have a boat just kayacks and canoes. I do not even know what type of trout are in the lake. Any info would be greatly appreciated on how we can land some nice trout. Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Trout in Adk. Lakes

Use some spinners and spoons, I put in flushmount rod holders in my yak to troll with. Also mounted a milkcrate to the rear storage area with a bucket inside and pvc tubesattached with hose clamps to store nets and additional rods. Humminnbird fishfinder a big plus.

Here's a site that will help you.
