Default RE: Newyork deer permit question

I dont know how many permits will be given out in your zone ,but according to the 2002 deer management book the odds for getting a first DMP are high. which means more than 2/3 of the applicants will get one. It also states that there will be no second DMP given in that zone. I hope this helps.

I also live in 6k, and don't know of anyplace DEC has posted permit #'s for WMU's. I do know 6k is in its 2nd season of doe permits. Permits were also issued last year, about a wk before permits had to be in DEC had annoucement in local papers for 6k permits with a # to call. Few friends of mine called and got permits. I believe permit chances are based on size of area, how many permits issued, and how many usually apply. I know its high, but everyone in my family has been denied a permit for 6k so far!!!!!!!!

I'm in 3k and they just sent me an extra DMP in the mail. Maybe they are sending them out to everyone who applied if there was a mistake or something or the machine calculated you wrong. I'm a non resident landowner and they only gave me one when I bought the license in person. I guess this some type of followup. Good to see they are actually working on the system even after the sale. best wishes to all.
