Default Info for NYS Lifetime License holders...

Dear Mr. ...........:
Our DECALS vendor has begun printing the new year licenses and will begin mailing early next week. Keep in mind that we have about 40,000 lifetime licensees so it will be the better part of a month for all the licenses and tags to get mailed. However, I am happy to tell you that they are a month ahead of last year's schedule.
You should have your's within the next four weeks.
Regards,
Kathy Forbes
Principal Clerk
License Sales Unit

I received this in response to the following email..
"I am current NY Sportsman Lifetime license holder. I would like to know when the current year (2005) Hunting licenses will be mailed to holders?"

just wondering did you get the lifetime to save money or time or both ? I've been thinking about it for a couple of years now but the savings really don't add up to much

I bought my lifetime supersportsman a few years ago mainly for 2 reasons.

The guy at the store where I bought it, in formed me that the following season the prices were going to increase for lifetime licenses, an secondly I was moving to NJ and did not want to come back and pay out of state license fees.

But think about it. I'm 32 years old....I was paying about $70 a year for all of my stamps/tags. I only paid about $620 for my lifetime sportsman tags....so in 10 years (I already have it 3 yrs) it will have been paid for. So from age 42 and on (god willing) it'll be like I'm hunting for free!!!

at least thats how I look at it.
