dayna, yes turkey season is in and will be in until May 12th. You may want to do your scouting after 1:00 p.m. which is the time our turkey season closes for the day. There is some great areas for your deer hunting in the Panther Creek area. Good luck.

I drew the 1st week; end of oct. my luck ;thanks for the heads up on the ticks I wouldn't have packed my Bens 100. If I leave home befor light I should get there by 1:00 . Any areas I should stay away from would help narrow my search. THANKS

Bob d a nonresident which I assume he is has to draw to bowhunt the 4 prime weeks of the rut which they consider the last week of Oct.-first 3 of Nov. Thats not a bad week to draw I've drawn it a few times and had good luck but my favorite week is the first full one of November. Last season we didn't connect on our buck until the last two days of the first week and until then we didn't see much real rut activity at all. It was above normal temps. with windy weather thought but those last two days it turned cooler and it was like you turned on a light switch. Heres a few bucks we've killed there..

I got home last night;sunday. Saterday I went to the Ray Norbot park on the illinios river nice place, saw a few deer. If i don't fill my tag at panther creek I'll try there in november ,have you guys ever hunted there? The watering hole at the north entence reminds me of west virginia montain bars ,areas of the floor felled like I might fall though. Sunday morning I checked out panther creek the place is like nothing I ever saw, the money spent on habitat and everything is unreal. Those bucks are impressive did you guys pass on many bucks and what was the hunting pressure like and did you hunt food plots or funnels or how? I must say I am used to hunting much larger patchs of timber,I live in Pa. and hunt s.e. ohio,w.v. and Maryland . I will be solo, company at the camp ground will be welcome look for a ford truck with Pa. plates.happy hunting.
