I would also like to know - one huge operation and huge bucks shot - wonder what the success ratio is and how many hunters actually go through - I know its one hunter per 400 acres (but per week * # of weeks).

I am booked for 2005 Muzzleloader there.

I do not know anything first hand on this Outfitter but have read some things about them.

Heres something to look at for starters:

Where ever you end up do alot of checking before you spend your hard earned money, there are good outfitters out there.

Humm, I read that entire post - that concerns the $1,000 deposit I already laid down. I was asked by two gentlemen who I hunted the past two years in Canada with (all three of us were displeased with the Outfitter there) and now looking here. Boy O Boy - in dismay. I am going to ask the two I will be hunting with as my gut says - get out.

WOW! If these threads are true than something is really going on up there. I've been burned twice on hunts to Illinois in the last 3 years, for a total of around 5,000 grand. I am a very ethical minded hunter, violations are a problem since I'm in law enforcement, if they do it once they will do it again. I'm just trying to find some place to go with good honest people. Outfitters or local guys, I prefer locals, it's hard to beat the small town guys, I don't need all the glitz and glamour and fancy brochures. I'm a small town fella myself, Much rather make friends with locals and go with them, and not spend all that money. Like trading hunts or something, I live in Western NY and the fishing is great, maybe trade some fishing for walleye or smallmouth or steelhead, for some bowhunting in Illinois. If anybody is interested write me, hunting is much better with friends than paying out thru the nose. Also any reputable honest outfitters who the locals approve of is a plus. Please give me more info, thanks folks your opinion is greatly appricieated.

You should have no trouble getting a refund from a reputable outfitter considering it is so early in the season. He should have a refund policy on his web site.

Good luck-
