Default Hello, and ?? About Ground Blind

Hello All,
I just found this site. Wow, there is a lot of information here. It is gonna take me a while to read up. I do have a question that I have not seen here. I used the search function. I just recieved an Ameristep Doghouse TSC Blind. Is it legal to shotgun hunt out of this blind in Illinois. The only thing I can find says:

"Any person attempting to take or taking deer by use of a firearm shall wear, when in the field, a cap and upper outer garment of solid blaze orange color, displaying a minimum of 400 square inches of blaze orange material."

If I wear a vest and cap inside the blind is that ok. or do I need to hang a vest on teh top of the blind? I am hunting private land with one other person. We've been hunting there for about 7 years and I've never seen anyone else there, so I'm not too worried about other hunters, just don't want to do anything wrong and get myself in trouble.

Thanks and again great message board!!!

Chris

I'm pretty sure as long as you are wearing orange you'll be ok. For safety I would put an orange vest or something on top. The deer won't notice the orange.

My buddy bought an Ameristep Brickhouse TSC...just pops right up..no wires or poles...nothing. We put it up like it is...and wear our legal blaze orange required clothing.

Deer Notice Blaze Orange. Not As Orange. Its Noticed As An Unusual Color.
Its A Color Not Seen In The Woods By Deer (exept deer season) Thats Why They Are Often Times They Notice You. I've Seen Times Where Someone Will Stand Up Nest To A Tree Or In Weeds, And Deer Running Have Stoped And Looked At Them Then Run Other Way. Seen It Many Times.
Last Thing. If Deer Cant See Blaze Orange.. Then Why Do Bow Hunters Where Camo? Most Are Camoflauge Head To Toe? Some Are In Trees. So Why Where Camo? Because Deer Dont See It As Easy. And Not Get Busted As Easy.
Point, They See Blaze Orange Just Not As We Do. Just As An Unnatural Color.
