Hello to all. New to the fourms here and just wanted to say hi to everybody. Never really toke into consideration about joining a hunting forum until today. I look forward to meeting some new people, hopefully learning a thing or two, and helping others out. Talk with you all later,
Jeremy

Jeremy - Welcome aboard. What part of Ohio do you normally hunt?

Hey guys nice to meet ya. I live in New Albany now, but I'm orginally form Newark. I do most of my deer hunting in Licking County, but I also hunt in Athens, Monroe, Tuscarawas, and Muskingum counties. I do a lot of traveling for deer hunting lol. How about you guys, what part of the state you hunt in, and from?

Lucky you, having access to land in Licking County. I hunt the Tri-Valley area outside of Dresden, primarily because when I moved to Ohio a dozen years or so back, I didn't really know where to go. I've hunted Salt Fork and some other areas, but finally just settled in on that area. Since I normally find myself hunting alone, it's just easier to go back to an area a person's familiar with. I've had decent luck though, so I can't complain.

It's definitely nice, and I never take it for granted. Places are getting harder to come by closer to home for hunting, that's for sure!!

I was going to say, I've been hunting on that ground before and it seems to be a good area. I remember the first year they opened that place up, my uncle and grandfather went out there to hunt for a couple of days. My uncle use to work in that area when they were coal mining it. Anyway, from what my uncle had said I guess it was a slaying out there the first year it opened up. No one was ever able to hunt for years and years, then all of a sudden it open for hunting. Well maybe one of these days we can meet up for rabbit hunting or something like that.

That's interesting. I spoke with a farmer a number of years ago that stopped to chat as I was walking back to the truck one day. He told me basically the same thing; that the first year it opened up, hunters came in and took out most of the deer herd, with few deer left after that. Probably why I seldom saw deer when I first started hunting out there. Much, much better now. Saw some good bucks on the hoof and in the back of trucks last year. Hope this year's as good or better. Good luck with your hunting this year.

I hunt way up north in Ashtabula and Geauga counties.

Things seem thin this year so far. Couple of friends have seen some nice bucks down your way though.

Have fun Good Luck and God Bless.
