Midwest Bird Hunt

I am interested in bird hunting somewhere in the midwest probably next year. I am looking into some public land and walk in land in Kansas. Anyone have any suggestions for anywhere in the midwest to bird hunt? I am also interested in rabbits, but birds are my number one goal. Thanks
