Well it took me 2 years to do it but I finally did it. I got a Turkey with my bow early yesterday evening at Kennekuk ........ its a jake ........ he will be served at Thanksgiving at my home this year... No butterball on my table this year
I spent about 6 1/2 to 7 hours on monday chaseing these birds all day but the closest I could get was 40 yards with no shot.
I had an almost heart shot... My broadhead cut the arteries leading to and from the birds heart.... missed the heart by just a fraction of an inch. ... I shot it with my new Parker Phoenix Bow 57lbs and the Golden Key Futura Infiniti Dropaway Rest, Winn Free Flight Glove Release, Goldtip 3555 Arrows with 100 grain 4 Blade Muzzys... got a pass through shot.
Fall turkey hunting is awesome if you havent tried it you gotta do it .. you can hunt them all day in Illinois
I am so excited I just had to share it with you all........ if it wasnt for all the great tips and advise from the good folks on this site on the turkey forum I never could of done it..... they taught me so much!!!!!!!..........
