It won't be long before this next deer season is upon us. I've been out practicing a bit with the old compound, cause it's alot easier to find open areas to practice without getting in trouble.
But the shotgunning is a bit more "restrictive". I know of only two places to practice with the shotgun here in NE IL. One is Buffalo Range (Rock) in Ottawa (where there are constantly a bunch of jerks who just can't keep away from the benches and their hands off things when others are downrange. I almost always get in a fight, and I know alot of people don't particularly like me when I get "bossy" but I'm intrested more in safety and staying alive than making any new friends down there. They need a dedicated range officer on the long range!
The other place is the short ranges opened by Illinois State Police usually the weekend around Halloween.
Anyway, is anyone intrested in getting together for a little informal shooting session at Buffalo? Maybe a group can get together and put some faces to the names?
Also, just curious how many hunt the southern counties of IL? Williamson, Union, Johnson, Massac, etc. ...
i would be interested in going to buffalo range. i have my new H&R ultra slug .20 im dieing to shoot. i checked on the isra range: $80.00 new range member initiation fee, 120.00 annual dues, and 25.00 ISRA dues. thats a little to rich for my blood right now. maybe next year for that
george i will have to check but i think it is about 150 a year and you get the range and we also have a lake for fishing . we can bring quest if you think you want to try it let me know
