A little help guys, Anyone hunt in around West Point? How is the hunting in this area and what is the quality of the deer compared to the rest of illinoise?
is West Point a town in Hancock County? if so yes thats a good place have a buddy thats hunts around agusta he has had some good luck over the years nothing monsterous though, but there is alot of deer, good luck

To me it looks like Hancock county. Is hancock county a good county. On the map it looks like border of Ill and Iowa. What size should I hold out for when hunting? Trying to get a feel for what to expect.
I think greene and morgan countys are better, but there are great bucks all over West Central illinois. It would be inpossible for anyone to tell you what you should hold out for without knowing what you have taken, what you are looking for, and what your particular lease holds? Personally, I hold out for 140 but will pass on much bigger if I am seeing good ones.
My hunting buddies in-laws have an outfitter place in hancock county just outside of Bowen. He's been up there a few times and sees tons of deer and alot of wall hangers. The outfitter itself killed 4 deer that score over 135.
