Does anyone have any experience hunting there? Management Unit #73B I believe, just outside the CWD Zone. I noticed that last year, according to the DNR's website, there were only 67 deer harvested with a bow in the entire unit. Seems little fishy to me. Either there's nobody bowhunting out there, or we're too close to the CWD line and they killed all the deer off.

In any case, I'll be out there bowhunting this year. Just thought some of you could possibly shed a little bit of light on the situation.

Yes, not much bowhunting presure around Grant County, but if you want to hunt you will have to be related to them or you can't get a place to hunt, even with the crop damage deer, any where you go are (no hunting signs)Getting worse every year!

Exactly right Bowshooter48! My wife and I have 30 acres of family land that we can hunt on in the area. My in-laws bought it before the area got turned into state forest or national forest or whatever the hell it is. I think i'm in the same county as you're talking about... maybe I'm wrong. But that'sa ll you see in the area around my dad-in-laws place... POSTED: NO HUNTING signs. That's the problem when you have wealthy folks who want to "get away from it all". I know my father-in-law let's people come through the land all the time, but since I hunt he says he saves it for me. As I'm a non-resident though, I told him to let one rifle hunter on per year OR two bowhunters. I know there's a lot of horse trails in the area that you can hunt on. I've ridden my own horses and have yet to go on a ride without seeing several deer.
