I went out scouting Thursday and watched a fawn for about twenty minutes. I came across what I believe to be a fresh rub. The ground has been to hard and dry to find any footprints. I hunt in the Rochester and Winamac area. What part of Indy do you hunt?

I was out the other day scouting and saw many many tracks but no scrapes or rubs yet[:' (] I think I' d give it a couple of more weeks. At least the weather has broken a little and it is starting to cool off

To me it is too early for scraping activity. I have found in the past, trees that have been rubbed just after the first week of September. I was squirrel hunting at Winamac F/W area this past Thursday and didn' t have any luck with the squirrels, but had a big doe walk by me at about 30 yards. I also was watching some turkeys out in a clearing maybe 150 yards away, there were 4 of them. As I turned to walk away those turkeys all took off running away, and I really hardly even moved. Anyway, went to the shootig range and sighted in my .45 caiber muzzleloader. They have an excellant shooting range at Winamac. This cooler weather sure makes it better to be out and about. Later, MaxWell

Well I guess I have to retract my statement about a couple more weeks. We were out doing maintenance on stands and clearing shooting lanes yesterday and we came across a very fresh scrape. maybe its a sign of early fall?? I' ve never seen scrapes this early.
