Default Looking to go prairie dog hunting

I am looking to go prairie dog huntin for the first time and was wondering if any of you guys could help me out. I live in south eastern minnesota and would like to go prairie dog huntin in south or north dakota. Preferably not too far away. Could any of you guys help me out on where to go or atleast point me in the right direction. Is there any decent public land out there that a guy could hunt? I know alot of farmers will let you shoot them but would like to get a starting point.

Thanks,

Die Hard

It would be a little further than your wanting to travel but we have a nice dog town here right at the top of the state 10 miles from nebraska. I know the farmer real well and he lets about anybody hunt it for free.

I went on a prairie dog hunt about a month ago on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation that covers both North and South Dakota. Lots of dogs, but I would be very carefull who you hire as a guide.
Had major problems with one of the guides that starting raising hell with us. Tried to say we were tresspassing on his land while we were on tribal land that was open to everyone with a license.

I wont go into details, but its safe to say it left a very bad impression with all of use that were involved. Hopefully that is not the norm up there, but I dont know if happens all the time or not.
