MI bear hunting

I am planning on going on my first bear hunt this fall in the UP and I was wondering if anyone recommended any outfitters up there.

Keep us posted after your hunt this year, I'm building pts in MI, not sure when/where in the UP I'll be going but in the next few years is the plan.

bow? gun? I heard that you can't hunt bear out of a treestand with a rifle/gun? I think I'm just bowhunting anyway, but still.

Robv,,I take you figure you have enough points to gaurantee you have a hunt this fall.
Next,Which area are you planning on hunting?? also which hunt are you applying for?
Also are you looking to stand hunt or hunt behind dogs??
I can check with some guy's I know and get some names to you.
Another thing yes you can hunt from a raised platform with rifle.
I live in the U.P. so if I can I'll try to help you out.

I have 7 points so I am guaranteed a hunt. I don't have a preference where I go since this will be my first bear. I will be hunting with a rifle and plan on going on the first hunt period. I'd like to get one at least 250 pounds if I can.
