Ohio 2nd gun season

Boy, the weather was beautiful for the 2nd gun season.

Unlike other years, the deer seem to be herded up already. I had 21 come by my stand yesterday morning...pretty much in a line. One was a beautiful 8pt that would pushing 130-135. Sadly enough...my buck tag was already used, so I just watched him stroll.

I picked out a big doe and shot her w/ my muzzleloader. When I approached, I saw that it was a button buck. Not what I had hoped...but he'll eat like a champ.

Anybody else hunt?

You had a bit more luck then I. Didnt see a thing on saturday. Sunday saw 8 doe in the morning, then I pushed the woods to my 2 brothers and only saw two more deer.

Yea, it was all at once or not at all. hope muzzy hunting is better next month

I bowhunted last night...and had 14 stroll past. Same stand...same herd.

You're right...it's hit or miss.

BTW...I didn't shoot. They decided to stroll out of range of my bow.
