Default Kansas hunting

Can anyone clue me in on good public hunting areas in central kansas? Considering a move to Wichita from Oklahoma.

Kansas doesn't have a lot of public land available for hunting. The Department of Wildlife and Parks has developed a walk-in hunter access program with landowners, though. You can find an atlas to show you the different parcels at local hardware stores, sporting goods shops, etc. Check out the KDWP website for online versions.

If you located yourself in an outlying rural community, you can probably get permission from the locals to hunt. Kansans in small towns tend to be very friendly and neighborly. Get some connections built in a small community and someone will inevitably let you hunt and fish if you ask. If nothing else, you can always knock on some doors and simply ask politely.
