I don' t know if I necessarily agree with the unlimited 2nd bonus, but I doubt that many people will really take advantage of it. Like the article stated, in 2002 it was possible to take a maximum of 10 deer. Last year only 22 Missouri hunters took all 10 deer. Heck, 2 deer last my family and I almost an entire year ... I can' t really imagine trying to eat 10 of them or more. I just don' t see where it' s going to benefit much.

However, I do like the longer anterless season in December. Give those hunters a better chance to get some meat in the freezer in case they missed the big one during the regular season.

With the unlimited 2nd bonus, does that mean that I can get my any deer tag and then 3 or 4 bonus tags in the zone?

If so, I guess the population is really getting out of control!!

Thanks

Well I should have read the MDC page first.

The MDC has done a heck of a job working to bring the population back up.

Yep... 1 any deer tag and unlimited bonus tags. Seems kind of strange that they' d have a 1st Bonus and unlimited 2nd Bonus... it' s a bonus all the same

Well, I hope to get lots of meat for the freazer. Last year (first season out) I got a little doe, I have been trying to make it last as long as possible. The wife has taken a real liking to the meat, expecially the tenderloin, but who dosn' t like that.

If it were my call Id require every hunter to take a doe only first in MO. Then Id allow horned bucks that are a minimum 4 point (2/side). Missouri could produce monsters consistantly but we are plagued by hunters who are driven to kill bucks at any stage so they can say they got a buck. Its sad.
