Default Missouri

I've read that northern Missouri has some real good bucks. I was curious which are the best big buck counties? Thanks for any info.

Thanks kwaldeier. I was finally able to get some decent info on the region. And as you said, Putnam's in that real productive area of about 6 counties in the NE portion of Missouri. I'm seriously considering a 2010 bowhunt out there if I can find a good guide in that area.

I have hunted Putnam, Schuyler, Scotland, Adair, Knox, and Macon during the past 15 years. I would say that they are all about equal. This season I hunted Macon for the first time and took the largest deer I have harvested to date. You can't go wrong with any of these counties.

alotta times a states big buck counties will border the neighboring states big buck counties, I think that's the case for MO, ie Northcentral MO borders south central IA etc..etc..

My family owns land in Macon county (1800+ acres) and we lease a large portion of it out. Every year, someone shoots a 170+" deer and it's been that way for the last 10 years. You can't go wrong with Macon county......
