Default Whole Elk herd to be destroyed

Hear about the Elk Herd in S/E MN that must be destroyed because of CWD? As I heard it, they must destroy over seven Hundred Elk. I heard , this is the largest herd in MN.

Better hope they dont do that. They did that with deer around here, came in and wiped out 3000 of them in a state park 10 miles from where I hunt and hunting hasnt been that same since...

This is an Elk Farm (High Fence) operation. I have seen it from the hwy on the way to Rochester, MN. I wonder what they will do with the land after the Elk are gone? CWD stays in the soil, at least that is what I have heard. There's alot of land that held that many Elk.

that really is a shame. I wonder more, how the CWD got into the herd. They must have purchased an infected elk and moved it into the herd or something.

The article also said that MN doesn't have a confirmed CWD case in the wild deer herd. I find that hard to believe! I think it's out there, they just haven't found it yet.
