Default Tell me about OH.

I live in East Tn and we have great deer hunting here,I usually manage to take 2 to 3 deer a year which is good enough for me.But I found out that my cousins own 2 farms in Andover,OH and both are over 100 acres.I am currently in the process of setting up some dates to get up there to scout it,what can i expect as far as deer number in Andover,OH? I do know its almost in PA.How about big bucks? I don't care about big bucks really,as long asi can harvest a doe or 2 im fine.

You my friend have nothing to worry about hunting in that area. Quantity high as well as Quality.......I think you can take three does if notmorein that zone of the state. Check the ODNR site for the specific number of does you can take........enjoy!

Especially coming from Tennessee. Anything is better than that. Check out the pope and young diagram comparing these two locations! Haha!

You'll see lots of deer. Probably more bucks than you ever see in TN. Thats not cracking on TN. I hunt PA a lot where I see almost no bucks, but Ohio is just that good. Lot's of deer. Do yourself a favor and don't shoot the first buck you see. Hold out on a nice 8 point or bigger, because there is lots of big ones in that area.

Thanks guys for the info, can't wait to get up there and hunt.Im originally from OH but we moved here when I was 8,never had a chance to hunt deer,my dad took me squrriel and rabbit hunting, mostly on public land,Salt Fork and West Branch. No offense taken on the OH being better deer huntin in TN.TN isn't recognized asa good deer hunting state, but I think alot of it is because people don't know about it.I have managed to put 1 ten point and 2 8pts on the wall in the past 3 years. And I think its a good thing TN isn't recognized as a good deer hunting state, because our public land, isn't overcrowded.I hunt alot of public land in the late season and a little during bow,and I have never ran into another person while hunting it.Even though I have 105 acres of private land,it gets old hunting the same place all year,so I try to mix it up.Anyone close to Andover?
