Dont think we have had near enough warm weather for it, but just curious if a few are starting to pop up?

Not that I've heard about. I was out doing some turkey hunting during the youth season last weekend, we did see a few may apples up. I'm sure it won't be long.

I couldn't take it anymore so I went to my early spots this evening. Mayapples are up in a few places, but no shrooms. There have been a couple reports of guys finding a handfull of blacks in this are the last couple days. Should find the first ones by the weekend. Easter weekend should yield the first good plate full!

I read a report on Prairie State Outdoors that they are finding them in Shawnee. We need some warm weather fast!

I checked with my mom last nite and it doesnt sound like folks in Richland County are even bothering to look for them. Given that it is gonna be cool for the next several days, I guess I better just plan on helping my parents neighbor get the crapppie out of his pond this weekend.

I probably won't be until the second week of April before I take off and go. It may be a slow start this year.

I would think that they may come up a bit earlier this year considering that over the past several years we have still been getting snow in late march/early april. When I was younger it was not uncommon to start finding them during the last week of March with things peaking by the second week or April. Nowdays, it seems like you are wasting your time if you start looking anytime before mid-april.
