Default MN Hunting

Well i live in wisconsin, but my grandfather owns a cabin on a lake in St. Louis County MN. There is thousands of acres around that are public hunting. With the deer population growing because of mild winters i was hoping to try hunting up there some time. i was wondering if anyone on here hunted in that county and how they have been doing?

St.Louis County Is one of the best county's In the state for P&Y and B&C bucks. I'd be excited If I had a cabin up there, go get em!!

I think with a little homework, you will find St. Louis county is
the No. 2 county in the United States for B&C entries, 2nd to
Buffalo county Wisc.
What lake is the cabin on?

i would just like to hunt it because it would be so much different from the 20-100 acre timbers i hunt here in southern wisconsin. But ya there are thousands of acres open to the public, the superior national forest surrounds most of the lake. I have been going up there fishing since i was 6. (now 18) and have seen many deer but with school and sports i have never hunted there. Our neighbor up there basically lives there and is an avid outdoorsman. He has shot many bucks that are well into p&y with several over 160.
