Quote:
--May 2008, West Milwaukee. College graduate is detained, disarmed, arrested and then released. No charges filed.
--August 2008, West Allis. Private citizen is detained at gunpoint, disarmed, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct (all the while on his own property in his own backyard).
--February 2009, Beaver Dam. School teacher placed on administrative leave.
What does each of these have in common? In each case the individual was doing nothing more than lawfully open carrying a firearm.
The Wisconsin Constitution protects the individual's right to keep and bear arms, and even though both Gov. Jim Doyle and Chief Justice Abrahamson have acknowledged the citizen's right to openly carry a firearm, government at all levels (school administration, police officers, county sheriffs, police chiefs, district attorneys) has declared war on your constitutional rights.
A resolution acknowledging your constitutional rights will be submitted to the La Crosse County Judiciary and Law Committee on Tuesday and to the La Crosse County Executive Committee on Wednesday. I encourage all citizens to attend these two meetings and demand the county board acknowledge your constitutional rights.
