Default Do you like Dick' s?

I see where Madison will have 2 new Dicks sporting goods stores by fall of 2004. Do any of you in the midwest have them now? I read where we have a couple up north. Do the have a good archery dept? Pro shop? Whats your opinion about them?

There is one or 2 here in Kansas City. The hunting and fishing part is small but better than nothing. The people there didn' t seem to be all that educated on the products, but that was just here. I' m sure it' s different at all the stores. But I' m also used to going to Cabelas, so everything looks dinky compared to them.

We have a couple here in Toledo too. They are small and nothing to be desired for me. They have a few bows and accessories and a few guns and ammo, but I don' t get the impression they' re all about hunting and fishing. But amidst all the other sports it' s nice that they recognize hunting and fishing.

Since both stores will be right across the street from the 2 Gander stores in Madison, I won' t have far to go to get my hunting gear fix. I wish we could trade 2 Dicks and a Gander for a Cabelas.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with everyone else. I live on the south side of Kansas City and I' d rather go to Cabelas or Galyans to get my stuff.

I' ll go to Walmart before I head up to Dick' s.

They opened one near us last summer. It caters mainly to a pretty " yuppie" crowd. They do have some bargains, but they are pretty limited in what I consider " outdoor" products.
