I would like to try and deer hunt Iowa next year but have no clue where to start ...do you have to be drawn ...can get buy a land owners tag ...and whereand when is the best time to hunt with either a rifle or muzzle loader...also if any of you guy's have any first hand experience with an outfitter that you could recommend then please tell me who and why ...thanks for the help
the iowa dnr website can answer most of your questions
as to firearms allowed...bow, muzzleloader, shotgun or pistol.
high power rifles are only allowed in the southern two tiers of counties during a couple weeks in january
any time is a good time in iowa, just have to be in the right area
not sure of any good outfitters, i'm sure somebody does though
