Default Great shooting instruction

Red Brush Rifle Range will be hosting a National Appleseed Rifle Marksmanship Clinic during the weekend of November 8/9. The last Appleseed event here had over 150 shooters at the line!

The Appleseed clinic provides two days of instruction in basic rifle marksmanship. Attendees will learn critical shooting skills including safe handling of a rifle, proper standing/sitting/prone positions, the six steps to making the shot, how to "read" a target, and sight adjustments. The event is family oriented and appropriate for all age groups. It is open to all rifle types; any safe, semi-automatic or bolt rifle from .22 to .32 (8mm) caliber which can be fired accurately from the shoulder is welcome. Approximately 500 rounds of ammunition is needed for the two day course.

Interspersed with the training are stories of the role Riflemen played in the American Revolution. This makes the program especially attractive to reenactors, scouts, Junior ROTC, and other students of Revolutionary War history.

Participation in this event also qualifies as the marksmanship activity needed to obtain M1 Garands, M1 Carbines, and other rifles through the Civilian Marksmanship Program (www.odcmp.com). In fact, a Notary Public will be on site to notarize the documents needed to have these rifles shipped right to your door. So, if you have ever wanted an authentic US military rifle direct from government stock, this is your opportunity!

The pre-registration fee is $45 for one day and $70 for both Saturday/Sunday. The corresponding "pay at the door" fee is $50 and $80, respectively. Active military, women, and youth under 21 shoot for free! To pre-register for this event or to find out more information on the Appleseed program, please visit www.appleseedinfo.org. You can also email questions about this shoot to, IN@appleseedinfo.org. This is gearing up to be a huge event you wont want to miss folks.[/align]__________________
