Default 2008 Wisconsin Archery Season

Hey folks!

Wisconsin Archery season is only 57 days away (not that I'm counting!). Where's everyone gonna be hunting this season (area or zone)? Also, anyone seeing a big onethis summer that they are dreaming of putting an arrow into?

As for myself, I'm pre-qualified for the EAB season, so I can shoot at a buck right away. Hunt near Arcadia in unit 61. This year, I want to be the one to get a nice one...during the last three years neighbors have taken bucks in the 150's

Zone 61east ofGilmanton, zone 70G nearPardeeville and 67B east of Marquette.
I put the camera's out 7/3, and there was a real nice ten point out in the field. A solid P&Y candidate. I have two EAB stickers, so no pressure to shoot a doe right away.

I will be jumping all over southern Wisc. and also heading to Iowa in Early Oct. I have only seen a few target animals glassing, but last winters post season scouting showed me the where abouts of several more... Its still to early in the season to know which one I will go after 1st... I will likely get on to a totally different buck or Bucks before the season starts.

I am actually thinking that this year I might give Wisconsin a try. I live just south of the border and actually have a house just across the state line in Kenosha County. I am in the process of trying to find all my options available for WI for me before I make a final decision.

PYbuckhunter, sounds like you manage to get around a bit. Just curious...some of my hunting buddies usually take a day off in gun season to take a "tour", sometimes including other hunting camps we know about. How near Gilmanton do you hunt? Had much luck up there?

Last year we ended up needing a libation and stopped over at the G-Stop for a cold one...

I have no idea what is around on public land in southern wisconsin. I am hoping to get out in the next week or two to start some scouting to see if it is even worth my time and money or if I should just stay in IL.
