What do you think about most of the private land in Ohio being leased by Outfitters? Also, do you think Ohio should set a limit to the " Non-Resident" Deer and Turkeyhunters, by only offering a limited amount of tags and making them a " Draw Only" type of tag?

Their land, their choice. Not saying that i am a big fan of it, but that is the way that it is. As for the latter, I am in favor of any policies that favor residents, but still allow some opportunity to non-residents.

I don't like outfitters leasing land but its property owners choice, be nice to see land leased to ODNR maybe with a draw for residents just like they do controlled deer hunts depending on size of the land. I'd even maybe pay a little more for a hunting license to help support the land owners an state some if I had more land to hunt. Non resident brings a little extra money but I would like to maybe see a limit, allot of others states are that way for game or charge even a little more to hunt certain game (deer) for non-res.

I lost a nice 675 acre farm here in Ohio this past fall to a group of hunters that talked the lady into doing it now they have it was a prime area and there from Ill. So my oppinion is it stinks but its her property and she pays the tax for it

I agree, it's the land owners choice. I guess my thought is, if the state would put a limit on the amount of out of state tags available ( maybe by county), and made it a draw system, the outfitters leasing up all of this land would be limited to the amount of money they could make, and clients they could recruit. Therefor, limiting the amount of land they could afford to lease. I think you would see alot of land that is already leased, coming open for hunting permission again. I am sure the state would not go for this idea though, as it is money lost for them from out of state tags sales.

Funny to hear that folks from Illinois are coming here to lease land or hunt with outfitters. In most cases it is the other way around.

Most private land isn't leased by outfitters. No, Ohio shouldn't set limits. Give the government the green light to ripe people off and you'll be next.

Learn to be a good neighbor and let the chips fall where they may.

What is the outcome of anything? It will come to an end and when it does where will all these well fed deer be? That's right, at the other end of your pin. Let the fools feed the deer. Ohio for better or worse is approaching having 2 Mil acres of public ground to hunt. I've look at almost 20 new ones since December and some by the looks of them were a former qdm operation.

A friend told me that some Outfitters in ohio are in some hot warter because of not paying tax's for leasing land. I am sorry but i have said it beforthat i don't really like OUTFITTER'S because they are going to get almost all the land so that you have to pay to hunt BS. The averge guy will almost not able to hunt and that's not right at all. Im lucky were i hunt they will never get to lease that land. Because they tried befor and the land owner said hell no and never come back!!!!!. We need more land owner's like this and this goes for not just ohio but for all state's to!!!!
