In Illinoisplat booksare available at the individual county courthouses. Illinois doesn't supply contact information of the land owners, just their names. Also, I'm not sure how often they are updated. Start at your county courthouse though.

In Michigan the Plat Books are sold through the County Conservation Districts. They are updated annually. You may also be able to find one at your local library.

There is no contact information in the Plat Book, only property owners names. To get contact information, you should be able to cross reference the names with property tax records in each county.

Yes, in wisc they're by county. Contact the county land records office. One book contains all the land in a county, and they're about $20. Many countys in wi have on line GIS maps where you can determine ownership that way, but not too user friendly unless you're familiar with those types of applications.

They actually have a free one online for my county here in Wi. Its a satalite map and each property is
outlined and when you click on it, shows you currently owns that piece of property.

I'd check at the library before you go and drop the cash on one of those, I've seen em run as much as $40. I'm a studen at UW-Stevens Point and the library here has just about every county plat book and for 10 cents a photo-copy for only the pages i needed.
