i have had the case they work good they make a cloth one that works great i have one with my lantern also a Coleman
these things are not to strong
i think they should make them stronger
you might have it to high to much heat could crack it or temp change
does it crack when you use it or just when it is in storage
if in storage it is getting hit around to much get a case and be careful
