IL Gov to cut another 40% of DNR funding

As if already gutting our DNR, raising fees of every kind and swiping 1.2 billion out the special funds (some of which was earmarked for more public land) wasn't enough. Here's his new proposal.

40% cut in the DNR budget and cutting 200 jobs in the DNR. (which will close many of our public use areas... even though IL is only 1% state owned land)

He is a joke of a governor. As many of us Illinoisians have said, he's crooked and will wind up doing some time in a cell sometime in his life. I take the "EL" to work in the morning and it took him a year to pass funding so 100,000 people could get to work and school in the morning. This guy knows about as much running the state of Illinois as a nun knows about running a liquor store. He knows Chicago and nothing outside of it, he won't even live in Springfield like the Illinois Governors have in the past (Don't know if that has changed). He knows nothing about the economy and how much outside revenue tourists bring to Illinois to hunt and fish. Somehow we voted him in though......

He scares the hell out of me[:@]. Besides the utterly rediculous 40% cut to our DNR, so is the proposed health care tax on businesses. Don't politicians realize that new taxes on business are just passed on to the employees through pay cuts or the employee having to pay a bigger share of their health insurance?

I can't stand the guy.

I don't believe we voted "BAG O S**T in it was all the Chicago people. If it wasn't for Chicago this would be a republican state. O and I guess we are all paying for the jet fuel that he is burning flying back and forth from Chicago to Springfield. Just don't understand it but we are stuck with it for a little while longer then we can get rid of him. Sorry just don't care for him and his cohort Mayor Daley

It's not just the DNR. He has raided almost everother department's funds as well.I know the Dept of Insurance was cleaned out and our fees skyrocketed.From the sounds of it, the dept of transportation stuck it to trucking firms worse than anyone. And withgas prices skyrocketing, I'm sure that helped them! But hey, at least senior citizens can ride the train in Chicago for free!
