The Kansas deer regulations for 08 are in process of being totally revamped... I would expect to see the full regulations sometime in July. As for the seasons.... it may be up for grabs as well but it normally follows suit with the prior seasons that can be found here http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/news/hunting/when_to_hunt/big_game

Now that transferable tags are a thing of the past.... KDWP has indicated that more NR tags(rifle) should be available in 2008. From what I've heard,it might still take a couple of points to draw an archery tag. I've got 2 points,so I feel pretty confident that I'll draw a tag this fall.....

Still think that's crazy that an archery tag is harder to draw than a rifle tag.... But your right, I've noticed that looking at their draw odds in the past....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't KS have around 2200 leftover NR tags last year and about 1900 leftovers the year before? Like to see it be a little easier to obtain archery tags.
Hamrhead, don't know the exact numbers but Kansas did have a lot of left over permits last year. However most of them were for the unit Kansas City is in - they are trying to reduce car deer wrecks - but there is almost no access for hunting in that unit. For example all of Wyandotte County is in that unit - which has a huge deer population - but hunting is against the law in that county. So the tags aren't worth that much.
