Just wondering how many brave souls went out and hunted Illinois ML season? Couldn't have been any worse conditions.....rain, sleet, snow. Any one harvest a deer? Let's hear you stories.

Hunted Mercer Co. IL on Friday and Sat. Saw nothing from my stand and four deer pushing for them. A doe got 20 yards from me but it was too thick to shoot and she caught my scent and boogied. Between three of us, we saw a total of 9 deer but fired no shots do to distance and obstructions. Oh well, there is always the late antlerless season.
Late muzzleloader is tough but its been highly productive for me in the last 4 or 5 yrs. Forget rutting activity and hunt the food. Last 5 late muzzleloader kill have been on or near food and the weather has been aweful.
Seen a bunch of deer in Wayne. 2 guys who were hunting at my club took 2 nice 8 pointers and a much larger buck was missed. Bucks were on the doe here.

Went out for the afternoon with my bow, no ML, saw obout 15 deer most in one field, all probably 200 yd away from me. Need to figure out where they are coming out of and intercept them. Weather was wery similar to 2nd season just with snow on the ground.
