2nd season was bad for me and probably most guys up north. The weather was terrible and I came home empty handed. Very few guys I spoke with had good luck.
I was only able to hunt the weekend of the second season.Saturday I saw a nice buck with my binoculars on the farm I was hunting.A doe came close but winded me.Not much moved before that storm.Sunday, nothing moved untill about 9:30.Then deer were everywhere.I saw around 10 deer in a half hour period including the buck. The buck wouldn't come my way but 4 does did.More rain was coming so I took a doe.It was a good hunt.I got to the meatlocker in a downpour.I'm glad I shot when I did(about 10:30) instead of waiting and hoping for the buck.He was a nice one but I have a freezer full and beat the rain.Couple of beers and a football game too. (DeKalb County)
Took this doe at about 80 yards with my muzzleloader Thursday morning with my second season permit. Shot a button buck the first firearem season. Both in Pope County.
