Default Anyone Salmon/Steelheading in Michigan: Grand/Rogue?

The salmon run is supposedly winding down, but with rain in the forecast fresh fish will be coming. Has anyone been out and about in the rivers? Any pictures?

I dont think the run is winding down at all! I think it's going to get better if anything. Well at least for the mid to lower part of the state. It might be peaking in the northern half, not sure though. I'm pretty sure the U.P. should be slowing down now. You can check the fishing report at the DNR's website. I beleive it's updated every thursday(don't hold me to it though).

I went to the Pere Marquette river the first two weekends of september when we had our first cold spell of the season, and they had started running but not in full force. But with this warm spell we've had i'm not sure they are at their peak yet there. I do beleive the rain will bring in some freshies though. And some more cold weather will for sure seal the deal.

This king was taken the second weekend of september off a pink yarn egg. Caught him at 4:30 in the morning(yep we fished sun down to sun up).

Thanks.. I do check the DNR website but they rarely have anything about the Rogue, and they don't know much anyway. Half the times their predictions are way off. Hopefully heading out this weekend, should be nice.

Anybody else been out or have input?

My boy caught this guy 2 weeks ago on the Wisconsin side of the Lake! 32.5 inches, 8lb test on a light weight rod, pretty cool. I'm getting it mounted for him!
