My favorite time here in Minnesota is the first week of November. Actually my best day through out the years has been the 6th of November. Keep a watch on the moon too, i think the moon effects things alot!
I hunt Mecer co. during the muzzleloader season. I live and bowhunt/shotgun huntin a nearby county. Anyway, you definitely want to be in the woods near the end of the first week of November thru mid November. I saw someone posted November 6 is a good day and I agree. That was the day I got my first archery buck.
I hunt St. Clair county in southern Illinois and last season I did a morning hunt on November 3rd. I saw more bucks on the prowl than any other day last year. It was like someone turned on a light switch. The temperature had dropped for the first time which helped I'm sure but I saw so many good bucks that I had never seen before that morning. If the weather is anything like it was last season during the first week of November last year, I will definately be in the woods as much as possible!
